Project Goal Summary
We seek to inspire and create awareness in youth about environment and health topics that could change the way people interact with the world. We hope to improve eco-literacy for a growing generation. We hope to expand the conversation about the change in climate, biodiversity, and our atmosphere. And we intend to do so in an active space that supports a healthy lifestyle. One of our goals is to access architecture and urban landscapes where we live to see how it affects our health and wellness. That's why Eco-Club Nation aims to provide fun opportunities to build new perspectives and participate in active discussions.

Project Goals and News
Background: Being based in Florida, we have to consider the unique aspect of the State. It is a vast peninsula with a topical climate making it lush with life and biodiversity. Florida is facing a climactic movement in sea level rise, and hotter temperatures. South Florida is also a hot-spot for tourists, snowbirds, retirees, and residents from overseas that mix culture from the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. There are many Historic neighborhoods as well as a growing Design District that are becoming renovated, revitalized, and transformed.
What: To understand where we live and recognize what we can do to maintain healthy active design spaces. We will learn about both the natural and built environments. View project goal above or website for more details.
Who: Eco-Club Nation is composed of two parts: virtual voice in social media for all ages and an after-school club for youth. I am in the process of developing a curriculum for in-person club sessions that targets youth in grades 2-12. Those in high school will have the option to become a teen-teacher who will learn the information and volunteer to educate younger members.
Approach: To impact future challenges is to inform the present. We strongly believe in the power of optimism and utilizing all available resources to maximize participation/discussion. Eco-Club Nation will work towards suggesting actions we can do. This accounts for in-person or virtual attendance. Using present communicative technologies on social media platforms, Eco-Club Nation seeks to educate, engage, and inspire. On a more local level, the club will hold meetings that can be accessed via webinar.
Measuring Progress: Teen-teachers who are both learning and sharing information is already a step forward to measure progress. Followers, sharing information, and active discussions on social media is another step. New active members for in-person club sessions will determine growing club activity.
