The project's main idea is to get POCs into STEM by conducting workshops that educate them about the field and other options that may benefit them. We also plan a tree-planting event to connect them to nature. After that, we ask them about their experience and what they achieved.

My project was a success when I collaborated with Green Alliance for a volunteering event, where I recruited BSU members to participate. The most challenging aspect for me during this project was convincing people of its importance. Many individuals seemed unwilling to dedicate their lunch breaks to learning activities at school or to participate in field trips focused on planting trees and engaging in environmentally friendly activities, making it difficult to persuade them.
The project specifically targeted people of color, and it was funded by my ECA teacher, Mrs. Hamasaki. To promote the event, I posted a flyer on my Instagram account and presented information about it in my classes.
