My Eco-Mission:

Growing up my parents, particularly my dad who is a science teacher, made it a point to make me aware of the current climate of environmental issues. I remember my dad telling me that 150-200 species go extinct every day when I was a kid, and while at the time I couldn't fully comprehend the magnitude of that number, it always stuck with me. As I grew old and began to understand the importance of diversity the space that number took up in my mind grew bigger. While learning hard truths, like this was probably a blow my dad could have delivered to me at an older age, I think it was a foundation in the building of my understanding of the importance of the world around us and my capacity for empathy.
