My Eco-Mission:
After working on the project Freenew for three years, I realized that this project has the potential to work on almost any college campus. In the near future, Freenew is likely expanding to a college in Buffalo, which would be our first off-campus collaborator!
Since I was a young girl, I have always dreamed of 'saving the world', but as I grew, I realized that impacting the world - in a small way - was my real calling. As a true hard-working Capricorn, I value a days work and am a avid multitasker.Â
I hope to continue my work in the non-profit field, and work with college students to develop their activism skills.

On a More Serious Note
I am driven to make a difference in the world because:
I have the power to do so - it's a shame that others never realize their inner power, potential and strength. I want this place to be safer and (at least) as clean as the world I grew up in for all human offspring.
The greatest skill I bring to a team is:
Emotional understanding. It's very important to connect with students/volunteers/staff/admin on an emotional level. This comes over time by building trust and speaking frankly with your members.
(By 'emotional' I do not mean using lots of tears or yelling to get something done.)
My proudest moment working on community projects was:
The end of the first and third year of organizing Freenew at SUNY Purchase. The first year because I saw my inner strength and realized I could actually accomplish a community project. The third because it was my final year working as an organizer on that campus - and this year also marked our tipping point: there was no going back from how large our program became. :)
If I could change one thing about my community it would be:
Conspicuous consumption habits!
