Ask Me About
Eco-Mission
My Eco-Mission:
With a newly born neice and plans to have children of my own, I work everyday to ensure that the planet remains as beautiful and natural as it was while I was a child for the next generation. While my position at the University of Massachusetts Amherst focuses mostly on waste reduction, I have strong interests in climate change, forests, wildlife protection, and environmental education. I hope to safeguard the future leaders of our planet from the mistakes of today by changing as much as I can (within my sphere of influence) into a more positive direction.

My Fun Side
My favorite planet friendly activity is:
Hiking!
One of my eco-guilty pleasures is:
Meat. I know how bad it is for the environment, but a (rare) cheeseburger is delightful, even with the guilt shortly thereafter.
If I were an animal, I would be:
My favorite wild place is:
My favorite way to get outdoors is:
Hiking, biking, playing frisbee, or playing baseball!
On a More Serious Note
I am driven to make a difference in the world because:
I don't want to have a burden of guilt when thinking about the future of my niece or my future children. Knowing I have done the best I can to protect the planet makes me satisfied with the life I choose to live.
The greatest skill I bring to a team is:
Passion around these topics. Sometimes this can be too much for those who are not interested in sustainability or the environment, but at least they know that I care!
My proudest moment working on community projects was:
Starting, maintaining, and expanding the first residential composting system on campus at UMass.
If I could change one thing about my community it would be:
Banning plastic bags (working on it), plastic bottles, microbeads, polystyrene (already done!), and other harmful materials.
