Hello, My name is Chase Dike, I am an African-American Student at Leuzinger. By creating birdhouses my team and I have a vision to save our native regional birds and find a home. Our birdhouses are made out of upcycled wood sourced from a demolition construction site. We learned a lot of lessons during our research on birds, we’ve learned how to communicate with one another, how to plan and manage our time and tasks and give constructive criticism to learn from our mistakes. My spirit animal is a Red-Tailed Hawk, I chose this animal because when I was on a bird walk with my team a hawk was in the air circling above me as if it were talking to me.
