Hello All- I am a student at UW-Stout in Wisconsin. This spring semester we were tasked with a community service environment project and I decided to work with the National Wildlife Federation to Certify my Habitat along with earning the Monarch/Pollinator Badge. Some of the things I did throughout the semester was go through the different steps of the certification process with my class and worked with a supervisor through NWF. I found certifying my habitat such an easy and wonderful opportunity for me, my community and my family to learn more about wildlife, preserving it, helping to promote natural wildlife like bees and monarchs and so much more which contribute so so many things we need to keep the earth healthy and us! Please check out my project at the link below! Excited to be apart of this community!
Thanks so much for sharing, Kaleigh! We appreciate your good work to support pollinators! Keep up the great work!
Hello, @Kaleigh Nicksic, your project seems very interesting, and your idea of supporting natural wildlife seems very cool. I have a couple of questions about your project, how did you and your class certify your habitat? What was the process of doing so? Did you guys come upon any significant issue doing so? Did you know that ways you can support bees and monarchs which are pollinators is by planting pollen-filled flowers such as lavender, sunflowers, and even daisies? These flowers can help you promote that wildlife throughout your community. All in all, I'm glad your project was successful!
