I am looking to have a large grass field on my campus filled in with native grasses to increase biodiversity, but not sure where to begin. Any advice?
Hello @Allison Kowalik, That sounds like a fantastic initiative to increase biodiversity on your campus! A step to get started would be assessing the soil and existing conditions, identifying native grass species suited to your region, and determining the best planting and maintenance practices. Have you looked into any local conservation groups or university departments that could provide guidance or support?
That sounds like a great project @Allison Kowalik. For some advice, starting with the right native grasses and preparing the area well is crucial for success. It could also be useful to look into examples from other campuses that have transformed their spaces into native habitats. Seeing how others have approached this could give you some inspiration and ideas for your own plans. It would be awesome to get the campus community involved too! How do you plan on taking your first step?
