The Coalition for Healthy Ports is a bi-state alliance founded in 2007 by environmental and environmental justice activists, truck drivers, faith leaders, labor unions, and community advocates fighting for zero emissions, clean air, good jobs, healthy communities, environmental and economic justice at the Ports of New York and New Jersey and throughout the logistics industry. In this way, people can achieve community-driven solutions to environmental injustices, create healthy neighborhoods and make a real difference in people’s lives. State and local EJ campaigns will focus on the cumulative and disproportionate threats and adverse impacts from pollution, energy, goods movement, and climate change. Clean Water Action (CWA) is a national, grassroots environmental organization with 150,000 members in the Garden State. The organization seeks to protect the environment and safeguard public health, promote passage of strong environmental laws, and help communities address local environmental problems affecting them. Clean Water Action works at the federal, state, and local levels to elect pro-environment candidates. DSCEJ is seeking a lawyer to join the Community Engagement Program. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively in multi-state projects to advance community-driven solutions that achieve environmental justice and climate equity.
